Not a model from the cover of a magazine, but a Rottaler girl standing in the middle of life.
1976 was the foundation year of the Rott Valley Terme. It opened its doors on the 23rd of July. Where there is water, there is of course a fountain. "The model had to fit into the landscape," says Josef Neustifter almost 40 years later. And so "The Bather" was born, not voluptuous, but well-proportioned. And because a bath in the pleasantly-warm waters of the Rott Valley Terme is not a punishment, but a reward, she captivates the observer with a naïve, definitely cheeky facial expression. Just as if she is trying to say, "Come on in." Because swimming in public is a lot of fun, as the ancient Romans well knew.
