Description

The starting point is at the route board at the Arterhof. After a few hundred meters into the village, the path branches off towards the forest. At first, it goes quite steeply uphill. At the edge of the forest, it is worth looking back at the magnificent Rottal. In the forest, you continue walking uphill and about 200 meters before the wooden chapel comes the steepest part of the circular route where you feel your pulse rise. At the chapel, follow the signs down to the Hansl Huber fountain and then continue further downhill. A hollow way leads you out to the open countryside. Shortly before the first farm in Grottham, turn sharply left onto a field and meadow path that takes you over the typical hilly landscape back to the starting point.

Directions

From the route board, walk into the village. After about 300 meters, turn left and follow the side street to its end. The signposts lead you to the left and after a few hundred meters to the right towards the forest. The steadily ascending hiking trail leads to the wooden chapel, past the Hansl Huber fountain until you finally leave the forest in Grottham. Now turn sharply left and walk in the valley between two hills, past the Bruder Konrad chapel, towards Lengham. Turn left again until you reach the Arterhof again and follow the path back to the starting point.
