The Bavarian Forest Museum Village is one of the largest open-air museums in Europe and shows more than 100 buildings from 1580 to 1850.
Among them is the oldest elementary school in Germany from 1666. Beautiful old farms, chapels, mills, sawmills, colourful farm gardens and old pet breeds await you. In the buildings there are furnished farmhouse parlours and excellent exhibitions on religious and everyday life. The Mühlhiasl museum inn with its terrace and historic bowling alley is a great place to stop for a free break.
